Barbara Jean Wallace, age 77, of Shunk, PA passed away on ¬¬¬¬¬¬July 13, 2015 at her home, with her loving family at her side.
Barbara was born in Glenmoore, Wallace Township, Chester Co., PA a daughter of the late Robert Guthrie Ford and Laura Miller Ford. She graduated from Downingtown Senior High School a member of the class of 1955. She was a superb athlete in field hockey, a majorette and scholar in the business curriculum while in high school.
After graduation she helped manage the family dairy farm and was employed as the school secretary by The Devereux Foundation of Glenmoore for 39 years starting in 1964.
She loved the out of doors especially the mountains and rural areas of Pennsylvania. Her many interests and hobbies included collecting antiques, flea marketing, and attending antique tractor shows and country fairs. In her earlier years, she delighted in riding horses, painting, and motorcycling. With keen enjoyment, she collected and archived Indian arrow points and artifacts found on the family farm in Wallace Township now included in The History of Wallace Township.
After retiring she moved to Shunk, Sullivan County in 2005 with her life companion George P. Scheib, where she gardened around their log home, loved God’s beautiful creation and spent time with her family.
A dedicated and loving mother, Barbara gave of herself generously, while living life to the fullest and never hesitating to help someone. She was a life member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church in Glenmoore, and a member of the East Forks Community Church in Forks Township.
Always an energetic, active person she maintained a positive attitude and robust lifestyle during her battle with pancreatic cancer. Barbara’s strength and perseverance remain a testimony of her faith and love for her family.

The funeral and memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25th 2015 at the Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 800 Fairview Road, Glenmoore, PA 19343, Rev. Mark Atkinson and Rev. John A. Wallace presiding.
Visitation at 10:00AM, Service at 11:00AM and fellowship lunch to follow at the church.
