John Joseph Lauricello

John J. Lauricello, age 93, of Herrick Twp, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Wyalusing Valley Personal Care Home, Wyalusing, PA with his loving family at his side. John was born on September 6, 1921 in Passaic, NJ, a son of the late Frank and Antoinette Fratlone Lauricello. As a boy he lived in Pittston, PA and helped his father who was a blacksmith. When he was a teenager he joined the CCC and worked at camps in Carlisle, PA and Bedford, VA. He enlisting in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was stationed in England. There he met his future wife, Doris Finch. They were married on November 23, 1946, and made their home in Clifton, NJ. They enjoyed 55 years of love together. Doris predeceased John in 2002. John was employed as a truck driver in the textile industry in NYC before retiring in 1983 and moving to Herrick Twp., PA, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. John was a kind and caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving: Daughter and son-in-law: Doreen (Brian) Roehrig Herrick Twp, PA Grandchildren: Erin (Ralph) Schoonover Herrick Twp, PA Heather (Wallace) Baker Ventura, CA Matthew Roehrig and fiancé Ashley Oswald Herrick Twp, PA Patrick Roehrig Herrick Twp, PA Great-grandchildren: Jasmyn (Ronnie), Jade, Brian, Alivia, Broden, Lexi, Zack, Sydney, and Shay. Great-great grandchildren: Isabella and Layke. John is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson Shannon Levi Roehrig in 1985, three brothers Carmen Lauricello, Steven Lauricello and Joseph Lauricello; two sisters Angela Gebbia and Rosemary LaCort. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Herrickville United Methodist Church, Herrickville, PA, with the Rev. William L. Westbrook officiating.
