R. Martine Kipp

R. Martine Kipp, age 91, of New Albany, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 26, 2015 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born May 23, 1924 to Harland and Maude Allen Robinson who welcomed her to her heavenly home along with her husband of 49 years, Leo F. Kipp, who predeceased her on January 19, 1990. Leo and Martine were married November 2, 1940 in Evergreen, PA by Rev. Rose Allen. Martine enjoyed a life of serving the Lord at Evergreen Christian Church where she was a member for many, many years. She was a “stay-at-home’ mother for her five children and hundreds of other children that she cared for while their parents worked. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her family and friends. She also crocheted afghans, rugs and pillows, and embroidered decorative items. She enjoyed her family and home very much. Martine is survived by her children: Lena (Robert) Carichner, Hughesville, PA; Larry (Lois) Kipp, Philadelphia, PA; Loretta (James) Abate, New Albany, PA; Lamar (Rose) Kipp, Moxie, PA; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Kipp, New Albany, PA; sister, Vida Williams, New Albany, PA; and sister-in-laws: Lucille Robinson of New Albany, PA and Sally Haverly of Towanda, PA; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren; step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Martine was predeceased in death by her eldest son, Leo Herbert Kipp Sr.; a granddaughter, Ruth Irene Wilkinson; and an infant great-granddaughter, Mary Sue Kipp in 1992; brothers: George and Harland “Bub” Robinson; sister, Gertrude Kobbe; and in-laws, Jesse and Rachel Kipp, Evelyn and Dick Scott, Vivian and Ray Carr, Loren and Eleanor Kipp and Gene Williams. Funeral Services will be held at the Evergreen Christian Church at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 30th 2015 with the Rev. Michael Dodd, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, June 29th 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853 and at the Evergreen Church from 10:00 to the start of the service.
