Henry B. Minnier Jr. age 88, of Colley, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA, with his loving family at his side.
Henry was born on May 17, 1927 in Satterfield, Cherry Twp., PA, a son of the late Henry Baughman Minnier Sr. and Ufratus U. Dieffenbach Minnier. He spent his childhood in Satterfield and attended Turnpike High School in Mildred, PA and left to join the US Navy during WWII. He honorably served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1947 on the U.S.S. Augusta and the U.S.S. North Carolina.
He married the former Mary Lou Gephart of Colley, PA on August 15, 1947. They enjoyed many years of happy marriage and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last August.
Henry worked at GTE Sylvania as lab technician where he received numerous patent and suggestion awards and retired after 35 years. After retiring he was elected as a Colley Township Supervisor, serving for 16 years. He also served as a Sullivan County School Director for many years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing around their mountain top. He and Mary Lou traveled in their motor home across the country and also spent many winters in Bonita Springs, FL with their daughter Holly. While in Florida, Henry played and managed numerous softball teams. He was very involved with the little league and boy scouts when his sons were young.
He was a 63 year member of the Wyalusing Lodge #618 F. & A.M., and the Royal Arch Lodge #161, Towanda, PA. He was also a member of Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore, PA
Henry had a great love for his family and he was always there to give advice, lend a hand or to just lend an ear. His knowledge was vast and his devotion was never ending. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is also survived by three grandsons: Jeremy, Tyler and Eli Minnier and three great grandsons: Kody, Mason and Shamus Minnier, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son: Arthur Minnier on April 23, 2013; a granddaughter, Jennifer Minnier; two foster daughters: Joanne Dymond and Helen Dymond; a brother, Arthur Minnier and sisters: Grace Ryan and Velmas M. Obert Schreffler.
Following his wishes, Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
