Tillie Opishinski age 87, of Dushore, PA passed away peacefully at her sister’s home on Friday, March 13, 2015.
Tillie was born in Lopez, PA on July 31, 1927 a daughter of the late John & Anna Woyteck Opishinski. She graduated from the Lopez High School.
After graduation, Tillie moved to Elmira, NY and then Elizabeth, NJ. She worked for AT&T until retiring. After retiring she moved back home to Dushore, PA.
Tillie was a lifelong parishioner of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Lopez, PA.
She enjoyed traveling, sailing, dancing, painting, and spending time with her numerous nieces and nephews. She was a kind, caring, generous lady and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her brother, Joseph and wife Margaret Opishinski of Thurmont, MD; two sisters: Marian and her husband Milton Weaver of Greencastle, PA and Betty Ann Olshefski of Shickshinny, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers: Thomas Opishinski in 1974 and Leo Opishinski in 1982 and a sister Helen Opishinski Hoyt on Nov.14, 2012 and also by a nephew Thomas Opishinski.
A Private Burial Service was held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Lopez, PA with the Rev. Dennis Hendershot, officiating. Interment followed in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA.
Pallbearers were: John Hoyt, Chuck Obeid, Vince Wharton, Devon Olshefski, John Opishinski, and Tom Opishinski.
Tillie was an avid reader and donations can be made in her memory to the Sullivan County Library, 206 Center St., Dushore, PA 18614.
