Mrs. Helen Louise Bendinsky Rosbach, age 99, of Estella, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday night, March 17, 2015, five months shy of her 100th birthday, at the Attleboro Nursing & Rehab Center, Langhorne, PA with her loving family at her side.
Helen was born in Old Bernice, PA on August 16, 1915 a daughter of the late Adam & Mary Ann Gavenovicz Bendinsky. She graduated from Dushore High School a member of the class of 1932. She married Vanus Wilmer Rosbach of Elkland Township on September 5, 1936, and he predeceased her on September 11, 1969.
Helen worked as a dietician during World War II in Seattle, WA while her husband was stationed there in the Army. She started sending in the box scores from local baseball games for The Sullivan Review and later wrote the Bernice-Mildred Column. She started writing the Estella Column in the 1940’s and continued to do so until her death. She also operated a Guest Home for vacationers and hunters for many years.
She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, and enjoyed gardening and cooking and spending time with her family.

Helen is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by two brothers: Frank Bendinsky and Vincent “Bill” Bendinsky and by two sisters: Isabelle O’Connor and Nellie Bendinsky.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Edward L. Michelini, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Overton, PA.
The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be sent to St. Basil’s Eucharistic Ministry program or the charity of your choice, in loving memory of Helen Rosbach.
