Mrs. Dorothy M. Bart Titchen, age 78, of Monroeton, PA passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital, North Towanda Twp., Friday, January 23, 2015. Dorothy was born on January 23, 1937, on Lime Hill, Wyalusing, Pa, a daughter of the late Edward and Lida Homet Bart. She graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School as a member of the class of 1954 and then attended East Stroudsburg College in 1958. Dorothy began her career as a teacher at the Wyalusing School District and later retired from the Towanda Area School District. She was an active member of the DAR Machwihilusing Chapter, the “Red Hat Chicks”, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Wyalusing Chapter 523. She particularly loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Judson Morley Titchen on April 29, 2010; they were married on June 27, 1959. She is survived by her four children whom she adored; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. Surviving: Sons and daughters in law: Judson Martin (Susan) Titchen Lakewood, CO Douglas (Shelly) Titchen Evans City, PA Daughters and sons in law: Deborah (John) Prince Apalachin, NY Pamela (David) Mosier New Albany, PA 6 grandchildren, Rebecca, Joseph, Alexa, Breanna, Lauren, and Alaina Three great-grandchildren; Hannah, Dillon, and Madelyn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Emilie Kerrick, and a brother Donald Heath. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Ln, Wyalusing, PA with Rev. Kitty L. Keller officiating. Interment was in the Camptown Cemetery. Friends and family called on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Wyalusing Public Library, PO Box 98, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or to the Daughters of the American Revolution, c/o Shirley Rockefeller, 500 Cook Rd., Rome, PA 18837.
