Bedford, age 98, of Forksville, PA went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Dar-Way Elder Care with her loving family at her side.            Sylvia was born August 29, 1916 a daughter of the late Carlton and Lavinna Caseman Kilmer.  She graduated from the Estella High School and married Merton E. Bedford on July 3, 1935.  They were married for fifty-nine years.  They lived on the family farm in Elkland Township working side by side to make a life for themselves and their four sons, while caring for Merton’s parents, Oscar & Mattie.  She and Merton were also parents of several special foster children.            When Sylvia was a member of the Estella Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school and sang in the Choir.  At the time of her death she was a member of St. Peter’s Church of Christ.  She also attended the First Church of Jesus Christ in Forksville.            Sylvia so loved and enjoyed family and friends and her life as a wife, mother and homemaker.  She loved music and playing the piano and organ.  She was a gifted singer and seamstress and won many ribbons at the Sullivan County Fair for her beautiful crocheted items.  Sylvia is survived by: Sons:  Harold of Laceyville, PA, Carl and (Audrey) of Mehoopany, PA, Boyd and (Debra) of Forksville, PA and Bruce of St. Paul, MN; and a daughter-in-law Glenda Bush of Laceyville. Grandchildren: Carla and (Larry) Severs and Darnell and (Edward) Husted, children of Harold and Glenda; Michael and (Siobhan) Bedford and Dawn Mattice, children of Carl and Audrey; Kevin and (Marjean) Bedford, Lorin and (Kim) Bedford, Stephen and (Ronda) Bedford, and Aaron and (Tina) Bedford, children of Boyd and Susan; and Christopher Bedford, son of Bruce and Kay.  Seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews  Brothers:  Robert Woodhead and (Joan) of Forksville, PA and Lee and (Peggy) Woodhead of Montoursville, PA  Brother-in-law: Sam Valenza, Moorpark, CA and Sisters-in-Law: Louise Woodhead, Forksville, PA and Florence Kilmer, Grandview, MO            Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Merton: brothers:  Alpheus Kilmer and Leslie Woodhead; sisters: Lanonna who died in childhood and Myrna Woodhead Valenza; step-father Francis Woodhead; and daughters-in-laws:  June, Carol, Susan and Kay.            Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. David C.
