She graduated from Bayport High School on Long Island and later graduated from State University of New York at New Paltz, NY. She was a much loved elementary school teacher, teaching first and second grade in the Tecumseh Elementary School in the Sachem School District for over 31 years. She retired to Spencer, New York to be near her daughter. Brenda was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Spencer, NY and a member of the Women’s Moose and a very active volunteer for literacy.Surviving:Daughter:Kimberly (Matthew) Haney Willseyville, NYBrother:Edward Sturm Kingston, NYTwo grandsons:Caelan Haney and Kade HaneyNephew:Edward Sturm III Boston, MA A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Spencer, NY at 12:00 Noon on May 24th, 2014.
