OBITUARY
Mr. Richard Bruce (Dick) Dibble, age 82, well known Sugar Run resident, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side. Dick was born November 20, 1931, the eldest son of the late Bruce S. & Mary Elizabeth Willson Dibble. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School as a member of the class of 1949. He married the former Marilyn McCarty of Sugar Run on January 31, 1954 and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.Dick owned and operated his family grocery store, Dibble’s Markets in Wyalusing, Laceyville and Wysox for over 30 years. He was a man of many interests and talents. Along with being in the grocery business he was a pilot who enjoyed many hours in his glider. He was a talented musician and performer, a talent he developed at a very young age with his mother at the piano accompanying him. He took part in many community musicals throughout the years. He often performed with his two brothers singing three part harmony. He was a member of the Wyalusing Adult Band. His other interests included building and firing cannons, painting, wood carving, riding his John Deere tractors, photography, reading, operating radio controlled airplanes, lay ministry, astronomy and wine making - to name a few. He could pretty much build or repair anything. He always believed any information could be found in the pages of a book.He took great pride in his family especially children, grandchildren and great grandchild, and could always capture their interest with his talent for mimicry and interesting sounds, not to mention his soothing lullabies. He was a member of the Sugar Run Presbyterian Church and former member of the Wilmot Fire Department.
