OBITUARY
April 19, 2014
Michael R. Taffe, age 56, of Mehoopany, formerly of Dushore, PA died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Michael was born November 13, 1957 a son of Shirley A Setzer and the late Thomas Gerard Taffe. He graduated from the Sullivan County High School a member of the class of 1975. Michael was a member of St. Basil’s Church. He worked at the Sunshine Market and Masonite Corp and then Proctor and Gamble for over 25 years where he was on medical leave.
Michael served as Supreme Chief of the Eastern Delaware Nations for over twenty years. He was very proud to act as a chaplain at the Waymart, Retreat, and Dallas state penitentiaries giving his time to help and offer solace and comfort to the inmates. He loved the arts, traveling, dancing at powwows, and spending time with family. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors picking blueberries, sunbathing, swimming, and fishing. He especially loved his “favorite” nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and tried to speak to them each Sunday.

He was predeceased by a sister Diane M. Taffe on January 29, 1979; a brother, Joseph G. Taffe on August 12, 2004; and his beloved dog Petey on January 5, 2013.
A Transferal Service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday, from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
