She attended local schools and married George Alexander in Wellsboro on January 6, 1950. George predeceased her on July 4, 1989 She resided in Tioga County most of her life until moving to Sullivan Terrace in Dushore, PA on Mother’s Day in 2004. Barbara was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed crafts, woodworking, making lawn ornaments, needlework, gardening and visiting with her friends at Sullivan Terrace Surviving: Three sons and daughters-in-law: James & Lisa Alexander Monroeton, PA Gary & Jeanette Alexander New Albany, PA Benjamin & Kristal Alexander Wyalusing, PA Daughter and son-in-law: Shirley and Douglas Beach Simsbury, CT Brother: Ronald Houghtaling West Hollywood, FL Sister and brother-in-law: Miriam & Andrew Bogaczyk Tioga, PA 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons: William, George Jr. and David and a daughter, Judith Gastruck and a sister-in-law: Olie Houghtaling of West Hollywood, FL Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Richard Vieldhouse, officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home from 10:00A.M. until the time of the Service. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Morris PA at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2013 The family will provide the flowers and ask that Memorial Donations be made to the Sullivan Terrace Residents Fund, 135 N.
