Sweet, age,84, well known resident of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, PA. Bob was born on May 24, 1929 in Dalton, PA, a son of the late Grover and Clara Armstrong Sweet. He graduated from Dalton High School in the class of 1946, and then attended Lackawanna Junior College for business. It was there that he met his wife to be, Marion Smith; they were married on April 29, 1951 and she predeceased him on December 26, 2004. Bob was drafted into the Army and was deployed to Korea for the war, after 26 months of service he was honorably discharged holding the rank of Sergeant. Bob then worked at a couple of finance companies before going to work for Nationwide Insurance in 1964, from which he retired after 30 years in 1994. He and Murph moved to Wyalusing in 1964, where they raised their family and spent many happy years. Bob was a long time member of the Wyalusing Rainbow Club. He enjoyed working in the yard, watching sports, and he loved animals. He was predeceased in addition to his wife by his sister-in-law and her husband, Eleanor and Robert Lohmann, and a nephew Robert Lohmann. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853, with the Rev. Dale L. Russell, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be at the Wyalusing Cemetery, Wyalusing, PA Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
