OBITUARY
Juanita “Nita” Marie Zickler age 72, of Sullivan Terrace, Dushore, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her home with her loving family at her side. Juanita’s last wish was to remind everyone…I love you all!
Juanita was born in Elizabeth, NJ on September 26, 1940 a daughter of the late George Wheeler Jackson and Jennie May Woodruff Jackson. She obtained her GED and later attended a Veterinarian’s Assistant Technical School for two years. She married Lawrence “Larry” E. Zickler of Spring Hill, PA on July 4, 1959. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this July. Juanita was a loving wife and many times referred to her husband, Larry, as her rock.
They moved to Sullivan Terrace in 2011 and she quickly became involved in several community activities and even became a volunteer for Area Agency on Aging. This new chapter in their lives expanded her already immeasurable group of friends.
Juanita & Larry farmed for many years on Spring Hill, raising veal calves and other animals. Her true passion was her love of horses, a gift she shared with so many, by boarding, giving riding lessons and by becoming a 4H leader with the Wyalusing Horse and Pony Club. She was a Big Sister with the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Program as well as a Foster and Exchange parent, and was known to almost everyone she met as mom or grandma.
Juanita was a member of the Calvary Chapel Endless Mountains, Wyalusing, PA.
