Mary was born in Dushore, PA on September 9, 1923, a daughter of the late John & Julia Ryan Fitzgerald. She graduated from St. Basil’s High School in Dushore, a member of the class of 1943. She worked as a bookkeeper for Supermarket Service, in Dunmore, PA. Her husband Percy Dieffenbach died in 1987 Mary was an active member of St. Basil’s Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed sewing for family and friends. Surviving: Two sons: George (Ruth Ann) Dieffenbach Virginia Beach, VA John (Audrey) Dieffenbach Lebanon, IN Sister: Jane Plastow Williamsport, PA Five sisters-in-law: Isabelle Fitzgerald Schlegel Camp Hill, PA June Fitzgerald Avoca, PA Dorothy Dieffenbach Dushore, PA Ernestine Dieffenbach Dushore, PA Florence Dieffenbach Liberty Corners, PA Brother in law: William Dieffenbach Tunkhannock, PA 4 grandchildren: Lori Marie, Jason, Eric, Michael; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a two brothers: Dennis Fitzgerald & Francis Fitzgerald and a brother-in-law: Harold Plastow. A Transferal Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 9:30 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the P.
