Bob was born March 28, 1932 in East Orange, NJ son of the late William John Halbfoerster Sr. and Edna Matilda Lufft Halbfoerster. He graduated from Northampton High School a member of the class of 1950. He served in the US Army, stationed in England and Germany. He married the former Audrey Jean Doyle in 1968. She predeceased him on January 6, 2009. In his early years he was part of The Home News family business, and became a linotype operator for various printing companies including: Mack, Hughes, Sheridan and McAfee Printing. He began working for the US Postal Service and retired from the Nazareth Post Office in 1994 as a rural mail carrier. Bob was an a member of the Living Hope Church in Estella, PA and formerly an active member and past president of the Bath area Jaycees Surviving: Sons: Michael & Pamela Eisenreich, Northampton, PA, Scott R. & Rebekah J. Halbfoerster, Dushore, PA, Keith B. & Christine Halbfoerster Sr., De Pere, WI; Daughter: Debra Margretta, Nazareth, PA; Brother: William J. Halbfoerster Jr., Bath, PA; 11 grandchildren: Pasquale Paolillo, Tiffany Eisenreich, Keith Halbfoerster Jr. , James Halbfoerster and Joseph Halbfoerster, Lawrence S. Halbfoerster, Manuel M. Halbfoerster, Brittany M. Halbfoerster, Heidi A. Halbfoerster, Audrey J. Halbfoerster, and Elizabeth C. Halbfoerster; a great grandson, Steven Paolillo and several nieces and nephews. The day after Bob passed away his son Scott tragically died in an auto accident. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 with Pastor Scott Magann officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Nazareth, PA. Friends may call on Monday from 1 Pm until the time of the service.
