Joyce was born on April 9, 1929, in Endwell, NY, the oldest daughter of the late H. M. (Moe) and Ida Dingman Wilkins. After graduating from LeRaysville High School in 1947 she met and married Edward (Ed) Patton, of Lime Hill, PA on June 12, 1948. They lived the majority of their 50 years in and around Wyalusing. Although Ed passed away November 11, 1998; Joyce stayed an active member of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534, the Sugar Run Ladies Circle and the 8 & 40. She enjoyed volunteering her time, organizing events and cooking dinners at the Legion. She was an avid crafter and loved to crochet and driving herself and her friends to events around town. She was predeceased by brother Harry Wilkins, a sister Gladys Lantz, and a great-granddaughter Richelle Garner. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853. Interment will be in Camptown Cemetery, Camptown, PA. Family and friends may call from 10 AM until the time of the service. The Sugar Run Ladies Circle will pass in review at 11:00 AM, followed by the Wyalusing American Legion Auxiliary’s pass in review and memorial service, followed by the 8 & 40's memorial service.
