Helen was born in Lopez, PA on August 26, 1924 a daughter of the late John & Anna Woyteck Opishinski. She graduated from the Lopez High School. She was married to John G. Hoyt Jr., and resided in Maryland. John predeceased her on November 17, 1976. Helen was a homemaker and a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Lopez, PA. Surviving: Son, John George (Marianne) Hoyt III, of Parkville, MD; brother, Joseph (Margaret) Opishinski of Thurmont, MD; three sisters: Tillie Opishinski of Dushore, PA, Marian (Milton) Weaver, Gettysburg, PA and Betty (Edwin) Olshefski of Shickshinny, PA; granddaughter, Bridget Marie (Michael) Donchatz and grandson, John George (Robin) Hoyt IV; great granddaughter Evelyn Louise Hoyt; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Thomas Opishinski in 1974 and Leo Opishinski in 1982. Burial Service will be held from on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Lopez, PA with the Rev. Nicholas Solak officiating. Interment will be in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA There will be a Parastas Service on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
