(Jerry) Lane, 83, of Cincinnati OH and Cherry Mills, passed away October 25, 2012 at the Indianspring Care Facility, Cincinnati. Jerry was born in Dushore on April 27, 1929, the third of six children of James J. and Mary (Richley) Lane. He was a graduate of St. Basil’s High School Class of 1947, the Wharton School of Business, and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Jerry served in the Korean War as a First Lieutenant, U.S.Army, and was awarded a Purple Heart. Jerry was a Certified Public Accountant and spent most of his career working for Coopers & Lybrand/PwC in Philadelphia and Cincinnati. He was the Senior Tax Partner in the Cincinnati office at his retirement in 1987. Jerry was an avid hunter and photographer, two hobbies he pursued for most of his life. He had an enduring love of Sullivan County and had spent his summers in Cherry Mills since his retirement. He was an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Josephine DeRaymond Lane, three daughters, Mary Jo (Tom Giordano) Lane and Karen (Michael Masset) Lane of Cincinnati, Patricia Lane of Cherry Mills; one son, Jerome (Karen) Lane of Cincinnati; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandson; brothers Francis (Dorothy) Lane of Honesdale, and Michael (Deborah) Lane Of Chestertown MD; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Czygier and Catherine Minier; and one brother, James J. Lane, Jr. all of Dushore, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Stephen Church, Cincinnati OH on Monday, October 29. A Graveside Service will commence at 10:00A.M.on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, interment will follow at St. Basil’s Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to attend and greet the family beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
