David W. Shultz, age 66, well known retired Sullivan County School teacher, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 3, 2012 with his loving family at his side.
Dave was born in Williamsport, PA on June 6, 1945 a son of the late Harold K. & Clarabel Sauter Shultz. He graduated from the Montoursville High School, a member of the class of 1962 and from Mansfield University in 1967 and earned his Master’s Degree from Elmira College. He married the former Jane A. Finnegan on April 8, 1967 and they recently celebrated their 45 wedding anniversary.
Dave taught History and P.O.D. for thirty years at the Sullivan County High School, retiring in 1999. He then formed Shultz Restoration, refurbishing many homes in Sullivan County. He was very active with the PA Bowhunter’s Festival where he operated the small game targets for over 40 yrs. He was also a member of the Consolidated Sportsmen of Muncy Creeks and the North Mountain Sportsmen’s Association.
He enjoyed his two generations of students and friends. His greatest pleasure was his family and friends with whom, as a great story teller, would share his many remembrances of Sullivan County.

Also surviving are many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 9th 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Michael Greenauer, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
The family will provide the flowers and request that memorial contributions be sent to the Sullivan County Scholarship Association, PO Box 277, Laporte, PA 18626.
