Obituary
J. Michael Murphy, age 68, of Nisbet, PA formerly of Dushore, PA passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Williamsport Hospital.
Mike was born in Sayre, on February 1, 1944 a son of the late Bernard N. and Helen Ballentine Murphy. He attended St. Basil’s High School and graduated from Turnpike High School, a member of the class of 1962.
Mike married the former Jeannie L. Johnson of Williamsport on October 12, 2001. He retired from Cleveland Brothers in Turbotville in 2009 after 40 years of service.
Mike was a member of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA and a member of the White Ash Land Association, and the Knights of Columbus in Williamsport. He most enjoyed participating with his friends in activities at the Monroeton Gun Club, where he was a member for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was very adept at finding old tractors and completely restoring them.
Surviving: his spouse, Jeannie at home; son: Joseph (Rachael) Murphy, Boston, MA; daughters: Mary (Jeff) Sheaffer, Montoursville, PA, Ann (Chris) Davidson, Baltimore, MD, step-daughters, Tricia (Marshall) Corbin, Nesbit, and Tammy Shoalts of Williamsport; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA.
The family will received friends at the church from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass.

The family will provide the flowers and request that Memorial Contributions be directed to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Avenue, Williamsport, PA 17701.
