Hay, age 80, of Ballibay, PA (near Camptown) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2012, with his loving family at his side. Bob was born in Waverly, NY on June 10, 1931, a son of the late Paul and Rosa Clark Hay. He graduated from Wyalusing High School in the class of 1949. After high school he went to work on his family’s dairy farm, and drove school bus for a number of years. He met his wife to be, the former Lillie Brought on a family trip to Middletown, PA. They were married on August 27, 1960, having recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. When Charmin opened their new plant in Mehoopany, PA, he started in their maintenance department and eventually ended up in their environmental engineering group, from which he retired. Just prior to retiring from P & G he started his own travel business, Hay’s Travel, with locations in Wysox and Athens, which he ran for ten years. In retirement he enjoyed working around the farm, and wintering in Florida. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bob was a member of the Towanda Masonic Lodge, the International Order of Odd Fellows, The Towanda Lions Club; he was a past president of the Towanda Rotary Club, a past president of the Bradford County Shrine Club. He served on the Bradford County Planning Commission; he was a former Herrick Township Supervisor, and a past president of the Pennsylvania Planning Commission. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with William Eberhardt, speaking. Interment will be in the Camptown Cemetery, Camptown, PA. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA and on Friday from 9:00A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s name can be made to Bradford County Humane Society, PO Box 179, Ulster, PA 18850, or a charity of your choice. Towanda Masonic Lodge #106 F. & A.M. will have a service at 5:40 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 1152, Wysox will have a service at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
