Hebda, age 93, of Stevensville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her home with her loving family at her side. Stella was born in Avoca, PA on September 16, 1918 a daughter of the late Stanley & Antonia (Ressick) Koniszewski. She married August J. Hebda of Stevensville, PA on November 27, 1941. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the happiest when she was lavishing her love on all of her family. She and her husband were dairy farmers for many years. Stella was a helpmate to her husband, raised chickens and cooked many wonderful meals for the neighboring farmers when they did the seasonal haying and threshing. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Wyalusing, PA and of the Wyalusing Senior Citizens group, the Stevensville Birthday Club, and the Stevensville Sewing Circle. She took instruction from Bonnie Bell and became accomplished as a painter. She made many beautiful paintings and craft objects that her family now enjoy. Surviving: Son: Joseph Hebda Martinsburg, WV Daughter: Theresa (Robert) McDonough Vestal, NY Four grandchildren: Theodore & Cameron Hebda Jon (Tracy) McDonough James (Kristine) McDonough Two great granddaughters: Emma & Addison McDonough Numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann Lyons of Chipley, FL and three brothers, Edward Koniszewski, Leonard Koniszewski, and Theodore Koniszewski all from Long Island, NY. A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church; Wyalusing, PA Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Stowell, PA. Friends may call at the Homer Funeral Home on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers and directed memorial contributions to St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 245 State St., Wyalusing, PA 18853.
