Joseph W. Litzelman

Joseph William (Jody) Litzelman, age 57, of Charlotte passed away February 26, 2012 at his residence. Joe was born May 19, 1954 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Mary Lynch Litzelman and the late Joseph Bernard Litzelman. Joe grew up in Dushore, Pennsylvania where he enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and camping, and where he became an Eagle Scout. Joe obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Shippensburg University in 1976, where he was a brother in the Kappa-Lambda chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Joe married Denise Munchel of York, Pennsylvania in 1976. While residing in York, Joe started his career as an accountant and later became Vice President of Operations with Iceland Seafood Corporation. In 1995, Joe, Denise, and their three children moved to Charlotte. There, Joe and Denise formed Litzelman Enterprises, Inc., which operates Merry Maids of Charlotte. Joe was a devoted and doting husband and father. He will be remembered and missed most for the love and care he gave to his family. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Denise M. Litzelman; son, Scott Litzelman and Scott's wife, Christine Ng of Arlington, Virginia; daughter, Marie Litzelman of Charlotte; daughter Jennifer Litzelman of Charlotte; mother, Mary Litzelman of Laporte, Pennsylvania; and sister, Ann Litzelman of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211.
