Jeffrey Homer, Supervisor 1 Grovedale Lane Wyalusing, Pennsylvania 18853 Tel 570 746-1444 Fax 570 928-8116 Email pdh@epix.net OBITUARY Mrs. Theresa Kinsley Huffman, age 90, well-known Wyalusing resident, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA. Theresa was born on the family farm in Wilmot Township, PA on December 23, 1921 the daughter of Dominic and Katharine Cummiskey Kinsley. She attended the Sciotovale and Grant Hill schools before graduating from Wyalusing High School with honors. Following graduation, Theresa worked for the North Pennsylvania Power Company in Towanda. She then worked many years as a bookkeeper for the J.V. Taylor Company in Wyalusing. In 1972 Theresa became employed by the Taylor McCarty & Sons car dealership in Wyalusing as a bookkeeper and worked there until her retirement on December 31, 1983. On August 30, 1947 she married Melbourne Huffman and they made their home for many years in Sugar Run before building a new home on the outskirts of Wyalusing in 1971 where they enjoyed a view of the Susquehanna River and sitting together on the front porch until Melbourne’s passing on January 13, 1994. In her retirement “Aunt Theresa”, as she was affectionately known by many in the area, kept busy with daily activities at her church, sewing, crafting and attending to her flowers and vegetable garden. Theresa loved to travel and enjoyed many trips throughout the United States as well as Australia, Ireland and most recently the Holy Land. She enjoyed friendships with the various priests that served her parish over the years which continued for years after they left the area. She is survived by one sister Anne and Vincent Antonich of Spring Lake, MI and five brothers Gerald and Betty Kinsley of Orlando, FL, Robert and Julyene Kinsley of Dunedin, FL, Jack and Bonnie Kinsley of Newark, DE, William Kinsley of Richmond, VA and Donald Kinsley of Bowie, MD. Sisters-in-law Mary Kinsley of Alexandria, VA, Marilyn and Larry Kneller and Peggy Huffman, all of Wyalusing. Brother-in-law Lloyd and Kathryn Huffman of Wyalusing. She is also survived nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers Joseph, J. Richard and Michael and sisters, Katharine, Marguerite and Helen. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, her pastor, as celebrant and Msgr. William Feldcamp, Rev. Kenneth Seegar, and the Rev. Philip Rayappan as concelebrants. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
