OBITUARY
Edith Esther Sick Goodwin, age 75, of Forkston, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2012, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Edith was born at home in Lovelton, PA, on June 23, 1936, the first child of the late Robert Henry and Dorothy Potter Sick. She graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School in the class of 1954. In 1955, she married Perle Goodwin and they raised their two children, Dan and Janice, on the family farm. Edith worked at various jobs outside of the home, most recently retiring in 2002 from the P&G Credit Union after 17 years of service. While there she was in charge of the Credit Union's Tyler Hospital branch office.
Edith was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker; her kindness and giving spirit was felt by everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, playing cards, and especially spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren particularly brought her great joy. She was also an active member of the Forkston United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she served in many capacities, including as Treasurer, choir member, and officer for the United Methodist Women.
