Aleene was born in Erie, PA on December 31, 1953 a daughter of the late Adelbert McQuaid & Catherine Rogers Glossenger. She graduated from the Elkland High School. She married Brian E. Short of Elmira, NY on September 29, 1972. She and Brian formerly owned a video store in Dushore. Her main focus was helping and loving her grandchildren. Surviving: are Brian at home; her son Brian (Peggy) Short of New Albany, PA; two daughters, Sonya (Daryle) Westbrook of Overton and Tammi (Randy) Smith of New Albany, PA; nine grandchildren: Brian Short IV, Adrienne Short, Mikayla Westbrook, Daryle Westbrook JR, Garrett Westbrook, Codey Westbrook, Teya Short, Randy Smith Jr., and Brianna Smith; a brother, Jim Glossenger of Elmira, NY; four sisters: Audrey & Gary Seymour of Columbia Cross Roads, Judy and Bill Welch of Standing Stone, PA, Sharon Osburn of Elmira, NY and Darlene Knickerbocker of Elmira, NY; Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 with the Rev. Danny Butler, officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, New Albany, PA Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
