She was born in Murraytown, PA on January 14, 1934. The daughter of Amado Martin and Susan Janasov Rodriguez, Dolores resided in Mildred and attended the Cherry Twp.-Turnpike School. She was employed at Weldon’s Manufacturing Co. in Lopez, and later at Sullcraft Inc. in Dushore. Dolores was a lifelong member of Trinity Chapel, sang in their choir, served on Trinity’s Trustee board as secretary, and was also a member of the former Gleaner’s Society. On August 8, 1953, Dolores married Leo Elchak, of Lopez, PA and lived at the Elchak homestead. They had three children; daughter Deborah (Pat) Schemery of Lewisburg, daughter Pamela (Craig) Musser of Linden, PA, and son Lee (Sue Ann) Elchak of Denver, North Carolina. Dolores is survived by three grandchildren; Shauna Dunham of Milton, PA, Michele (Christian) Richardson of New York City, Justin Elchak of Denver, North Carolina; and one great grandchild, Christopher Doyle of Milton, PA. She is also survived by a sister Mrs. Lester (Anna) Rosenberry of Monroeton, sister-in law Marlene Rodriguez of Laceyville, and a number of nieces & nephews. Preceding Dolores in death are parents Amado (1958) and Susan (1990), a brother Eugene (1967), and a sister Josephine Pelot (2007). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Mildred, PA with the Rev. Bob Kaltenbaugh, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
