Gray, age 96, well known resident of Laporte, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA. Lillian was born February 4, 1915 in Barbours, a daughter of the late James & Pearl Schriner Maley. She graduated from the Smithport New York High School and married Dallas B. (Bill) Gray of Wheeling, WV on October 29, 1934. They moved to Laporte in 1940 and Bill predeceased her on January 14, 1971. Lillian worked as a custodian at the Sullivan County Elementary School in Laporte until she retired. She then worked for the Green Thumb Program and later worked for the Sullivan County Commissioners at the Travel Information Roadside Rest in Laporte Township, a position that she really enjoyed. Lillian was a member of the Laporte United Methodist Church. Surviving: Two daughters: Mrs. Marilyn Dieffenbach Elmira, NY Mrs. Connie Shultz Laporte, PA 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Ann L Bahr of Dushore, PA; two grandsons: Alan Dieffenbach and Martin Daniel Bahr; three son-in-laws: Earl Dieffenbach, Martin Bahr and Leonard Shultz; ten brothers and sisters: James Maley, John Maley, Edith Lewis, Olive Wheeler, Edna Barbour, Mildred Barbour, Florence Dillon, Kay Domeny, Harold Maley and an infant sister Nellie Maley. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Linda Renninger officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Ash Cemetery, Laporte, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
