OBITUARY
Donald F. Middendorf, age 73 of Moxie, PA, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 10, 2011 at Towanda Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Donald was born on April 2, 1938 in Cherry Twp, PA a son of the late Clement J. and Alma Hembury Middendorf. He graduated from St. Basil's High School a member of the class of 1956. After school he worked at various jobs. He entered the US Army and after his discharge he began working for PennDOT from which he retired in 2000 after 28 years of service. He married Gladys Dexter Brown on December 9, 1978.
Don was a member of PARSE as well as the Dushore American Legion, Loyalsock Post #996. He was an avid hunter as well as a birdwatcher. In his youth he enjoyed dancing and frequented many of the local dance halls. He loved spending time with family and friends as well as his dog Rosie.
He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Dushore, PA.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers; Clement Jr., Robert, and Richard Middendorf, 2 sisters; Betty Jane Middendorf and Lois McCarty, and also by 2 brothers in laws: Richard Saxe and James McGee.
A Transfer Service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home.
Graveside Military Services will be conducted by member of Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore, PA. Members are asked to assemble and pass in review on Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
