Vivienne was born on May 2, 1921 in Kinmundy, IL the youngest daughter of Edward P. & E. Maud Hites Hawkey. She was united in marriage to Franklin P. Detrick of Sugar Run, PA on October 20, 1945 at Christ Episcopal Church in Towanda, PA by a good friend of the family, Rev. Henry George Russell, pastor of the church. Witnesses were Claude and Hazel Dietz of Sugar Run their very good friends. To this union four children were born, Kerry E. (Beverly) Detrick of Sugar Run; Janet I. (John) Harned of Camptown; Rodney K. Detrick of Sugar Run and Cheryl L. (Jack) Keeney of Wyalusing; eight grandchildren; Andrew Harned, Alec (Tonia) Harned, Curtis (Michelle) Harned and John Jr. Harned of Camptown, Nicholas Snyder of Wyalusing, PA, Amy (Richard) Chase of Fairfield, PA, Derek Keeney of Sugar Run and Amey (John) Johnson of Ulster, Seven great-grandchildren:Harley, Savannah, Rachel, Cole, Finn, Hunter, and Rowan, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband of 43 years on August 19, 1988 and also by two brothers: Elmo and Clifford Hawkey and two sisters, Imo Smith and Nellie Whitford of Illinois. She was a wife and homemaker to her family and in later years became an Avon Representative for 13 years. She also loved to piece quilts and quilt them by hand and also did embroidery work and later learned how to crochet. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Barry R. Ballard, officiating. Interment to follow in Quicks Bend Cemetery, Sugar Run, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00PM.
