OBITUARY
Norman Ray Kunkle, age 86, of Wyalusing, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA with his loving family at his side.
Norm was born in Sugar Run, PA on June 15, 1924, a son of the late Raymond & Frances Turner Kunkle. He graduated from the Wyalusing High School a member of the class of 1942. He entered the US Navy in 1943 and served in the Asiatic Pacific and European African theatres during WWII.
He married Doris Dempsey of Mildred, PA on February 9, 1948. She predeceased him on August 9, 2009.
Norm owned and operated the Middendorf Hotel in Wyalusing for 22 years and then retired from Penn Dot where he worked for 17 years.

A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA.
Graveside Military Services will be accorded by member of Wyalusing Post #534American Legion, Wyalusing, PA. Members are asked to assemble and pass in review on Sunday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
