Stella was born in Old Bernice, Sullivan County, PA on June 21, 1911 a daughter of the late Antoni and Valeria Kramnicz Waskiewicz. Her parents moved to Wilkes-Barre Township where she attended local schools. She worked for a brief time at some local silk mills and married Frank A. Chesla of Ashley on April 27, 1939. Frank predeceased her on October 9, 1985. She and Frank lived in New Jersey and retired to Mildred in 1970. Stella was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mildred, PA. Surviving: Son: Frank (Mary) Chesla Lindenhurst, IL Daughters: Dorothy (Al) Schlosser Cogan Station, PA Cecelia (Frank) Marino Leesburg, FL Brother: Stanley Waskiewicz Wyoming, PA Sisters-in-law: Jane Waskiewicz Bear Creek Township, PA Dorothy Czajkowski Manalapan, NJ Geraldine Williams Toms River, NJ Marcy Gray Nashville, TN Seven grandchildren 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by brothers: Joseph Waskiewicz, Peter Waskiewicz, Alexander Waskiewicz, and sisters: Sophia Visco and Helen Milbrodt. A Transferal Service will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2011at 10:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mildred, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
