Helen was born April 6, 1926 the only child of Charles & Nora Cavanaugh McMahon of Albany Valley. She graduated from the New Albany High School, a member of the class of 1943. She worked for GTE Sylvania and the WT Grant of Towanda, until her marriage to Walter L. Manley of Towanda, on November 9, 1946. The recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Helen and Walter farmed in Albany Valley until they purchased Manley’s Garage in New Albany in 1965. In retirement they spent their winters in Florida. In her younger years, she and Walt enjoyed square dancing, reading and traveling. Helen was a member of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. And from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Members of IHM Altar & Rosary society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
